What to do when the echolink *K6FN* conference server is unavailable
On occasion, the *K6FN* conference server will be unavailable. When this happens, we have a backup server to use for our daily nets. Follow the steps below to connect to the backup server (K6FN-L).
Connecting to the backup server
- Click the link below for the Echolink User Guide (PCs only)
- Echolink User Guide
- There is no user guide for other devices running Echolink
- ===============================================
- 1. Open Echolink
- 2. Search for K6FN-L
- 3. Add K6FN-L to your favorites for future use
- 4. Connect to the K6FN-L server
Operating procedure for the K6FN-L server
The K6FN-L server functions differently from the usual *K6FN* server. Listed below are the operational differences.
- When you connect your call will appear at the bottom of the list
- Calls will NOT move down the list as each one transmits
- After your transmission, pass the microphone to the call below you
- If you are at the bottom of the list, after your transmission, pass the mic to the top of the list (Not K6FN-L)
- .lurk and .delurk will NOT work.
- Sysop access for moderators is not available on this server
There are plans to periodically practice the use of the backup server during our regularly scheduled nets. Check the website and/or facebook for dates when we will practice using the backup server by participants in Our Coffee Shop nets.
